Review on Bontril

Bontril is a pill used as a short-term supplement to diet and exercise in the treatment of obesity, being a sympathomimetic amine similar to an amphetamine. It is also known as an "anorectic" or "anorexigenic" drug, stimulating the central nervous system which increases your heart rate and blood pressure and decreases your appetite.

It is usually taken once a day in sustained release formula, or two to three times daily in immediate-release formula before meals on an empty stomach. Being a supplementary product helping you to lose weight it must be taken under a physician's surveillance. It is also not recommended to crush the pill or to take it in the evening as it may cause insomnia.

One of the most serious side effects of the pill is that it is habit forming. You can become physically and psychologically addictive on this medication and withdrawal effects may occur if you stop taking it suddenly after several weeks of continuous use. Bontril may also cause dizziness, blurred vision, or restlessness, and it may hide the symptoms of extreme tiredness.

Before taking this dietary supplement, consult your doctor as persons suffering from any type of heart disease, high blood pressure, atherosclerosis, glaucoma, diabetes or epilepsy should not take Bontril.

Some medicines also interact with Bontril PDM, so if you are taking guanadrel, guanethidine, or if you have taken furazolidone or MAO inhibitors within the last 14 days, consult the taking procedure with your doctor to avoid unfortunate effects.
